We made the move to Spain ourselves

Seven years ago we, Michan and Melanie, left for Spain. We looked at various places, from Valencia down to Murcia, and settled on the southern Costa Blanca. We bought a home there, arranged a Spanish mortgage and ran into the same questions you have now: which notary, which lawyer, how does an NIE number work, and is that completion date actually realistic?

In the years that followed we built a network of people we trust: local lawyers, notaries, estate agents, builders and keyholders. No anonymous middlemen, but faces we know, and who call us back.

So we don't just know how it should go, but also where it goes wrong. Everything you run into, we've already lived through. And solved.
